Some times reading takes it out of you, sometimes staring at the page and making your eyes do all the work is the last thing you want to do, especially after a long day at work.
Dom has always had a special place in his heart for audiobooks. Ever since he was a child he hasn’t been able to sleep without listening to an audiobook and he still listens to endless readings of Harry Potter as he goes to bed, with the dulcet tones of Stephen Fry washing over him.
Dom’s no Stephen Fry but he used to have a radio show and he’s decided to reemploy his voice for audio retellings of his own short stories. If you don’t want to read one of his short stories, or the exclusive extracts from his debut fantasy novel A Better Crown, then you can listen to them instead. Take five to ten minutes out of your day and maybe you’ll find that listening to short stories is something you might like.
But against all the odds Dan has stumbled across a decent story. His editor is happy and he’s getting thousands of views, even if the story concerns an MP’s drunken night out and has destroyed his integrity as a reporter.
But things are about to take a turn and Dan soon finds out what it’s like when the shoe is on the other foot…
